Ultimate Derby was established in 2007 by Sam Williams, who started from humble beginnings and built two of the largest indoor events in Topeka, Kansas: Blizzard Bash and Capital City Carnage. Capital City Carnage became a sold-out event before Sam decided to sell both events. Although he believed he was done promoting shows, his two children, Chris and Nicole, expressed a desire to get back into the industry.

In 2021, Sam, Chris, and Nicole joined forces to bring Ultimate Derby back to the demolition derby world. Their first event upon returning was the Whiskey City Revolution in Peoria, IL. They later introduced additional events such as Badger State Nationals, Midwest Massacre, Monona County Mayhem, and Gold Rush Nationals. The team strives to deliver top-notch entertainment to their audiences.

Ultimate Derby's officials are committed to providing consistent technical support and officiating while ensuring the safety of the drivers. Their registration team warmly welcomes drivers, fans, and vendors as they arrive at the events. Meanwhile, the track team works tirelessly to prepare the arena track before the first show of the day. Many behind-the-scenes roles contribute to the success of each event, often going unnoticed. Ultimate Derby truly appreciates the support of their drivers, fans, facilities, and vendors, all of whom play a vital part in their mission. More than just a promotional company, Ultimate Derby has become a family.
